After the hospital
- It can take up to three months for your prostate to heal. During this time you can expect frequency, urgency, burning with or after urination, and possibly an occasional loss of urinary control.
- Blood in your urine is very common. If it happens, increase your fluid intake and stay off your feet until your urine clears.
- No heavy physical activity, and don't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds, for 3 weeks. Walking outside and using stairs are fine.
- Don't let yourself get constipated or strain for a bowel movement — use a stool softener if needed.
- A post-operative visit will be scheduled for your catheter removal.
