Erectile Dysfunction & Penile Implants

ED is one of the most common conditions we treat — and one of the most fixable. Every proven treatment, from first-line medication to implanted devices, is available here, delivered with the discretion and directness the subject deserves.

A frank word first

Most men wait years before mentioning ED to anyone. That wait costs more than it saves: ED is common at every age past forty, it is frequently a marker of treatable circulation or hormonal issues, and the treatment ladder is long, well-proven, and effective at every rung.

At UACC the conversation is straightforward and private. You will not be lectured, rushed, or handed a prescription without an explanation of what is actually going on.

Finding the cause

ED can stem from blood flow, nerves, hormones, medications, or some combination — and it sometimes flags cardiovascular issues worth knowing about for their own sake. Evaluation includes a focused history, an exam, and lab work through our on-site laboratory, including testosterone testing when appropriate.

The full treatment ladder

Treatment starts simple and escalates only as needed — and only as you choose:

  • Oral medications, adjusted properly rather than abandoned after one try
  • Addressing contributing factors: testosterone, medications, health conditions
  • Vacuum erection devices and injection therapy, taught correctly in the office
  • Penile implants, for men who want a permanent, reliable solution

Penile implants — done at depth

For the right patient, an implant is the definitive answer: a concealed, mechanical solution with among the highest satisfaction rates of any ED treatment. UACC's implant program is led by Dr. Andrew Kramer, whose surgical practice centers on prosthetic urology.

The program covers the full range of modern devices — inflatable implants from AMS/Boston Scientific and Coloplast, and semirigid devices including Rigicon — matched to each patient's anatomy, dexterity, and preference. Just as important: the practice has deep experience with revision surgery, correcting or replacing implants placed elsewhere that have failed, worn, or never satisfied.

If you already have an implant and something isn't right — or you've been told you need one and want another set of eyes — second-opinion visits are a routine part of this program.

What to expect

One unhurried consultation to understand your situation and goals. A clear explanation of where you are on the treatment ladder and what each next step involves. No pressure at any point — men do best with the option they chose themselves.
